تیمم کی شرائط اور احکام

1. Absence or Lack of Sufficient Water
  • Primary Condition: The most fundamental reason for performing Tayammum is the absence of water or having insufficient water to perform Wudu (ablution) or Ghusl (full-body purification).
  • Applicability: Tayammum is allowed when it is time for prayer, and there is no access to water. The Qur’an and Sunnah permit this as an alternative means of purification.
2. During Journey
  • Traveling: When traveling, if one cannot find water for Wudu or Ghusl, Tayammum can be performed.
  • Availability of Water: If water is available during the journey, Tayammum is not advised, and one should perform Wudu or Ghusl.
3. Injury or Bad Health Condition
  • Health Considerations: If someone is ill or injured, and using water would worsen their condition, they are permitted to perform Tayammum.
  • Compromise in Health: In cases where exposure to water may harm a person’s health, Tayammum is allowed as a lenient way for purification before prayer.
4. Harmful Water
  • Dangerous Water: If the available water is harmful, such as being extremely cold and cannot be heated, Tayammum is permitted.
  • Islamic Guidance: The Qur’an emphasizes the importance of preserving life, which justifies the use of Tayammum in harmful situations.
5. Saving Water
  • Water Scarcity: When the available water is too little and only sufficient for essential survival needs (like drinking, cooking), Tayammum is allowed to save the water for those purposes.
  • Historical Precedent: During the Prophet Muhammad’s (ﷺ) time, companions would often save drinking water during journeys and perform Tayammum for prayers.
6. Avoiding Danger
  • Safety Concerns: If accessing water puts one in danger, such as during travel or in hazardous areas, Tayammum is the recommended alternative to Wudu or Ghusl.
  • Protection: Islam advises using Tayammum to protect oneself and one’s belongings when fetching water might pose a risk.
7. Uncertainty of Reaching Water
  • Timing of Prayer: If someone is uncertain about finding water in time for prayer, Tayammum should be performed to ensure that the prayer is not missed.
  • Delay in Tayammum: If confident that water will be found, Tayammum can be delayed until the last moment before prayer.
Summary of Conditions:
  1. Absence of water or insufficient quantity.
  2. During travel where water is unavailable.
  3. Injury or illness that makes water use harmful.
